Use Your Own Destination

Follow this guide to set up a free account trial using your own destination.

Prerequisites

To set up your free account trial, you need:

• A data source. Check to confirm that Fivetran supports your data source. For the quickest setup, use a Google Sheets connector.
• A destination. Check to confirm that Fivetran supports your destination.

Set up your account trial

TIP: If you need help connecting your source or destination, you can invite a teammate to help. At the top of the setup wizard, click invite a teammate.

Create Fivetran account

1. Go to the .

2. In the top right corner, click the Free Trial button. Alternatively, you can click the Start Free Trial button on the main landing page.

3. Enter your account information.

4. Click Create my account.

5. Fivetran will send you an email to confirm your email address. Check your email and click the verification link.

6. On the Complete your account page, enter your organization name, phone number, and country.

7. Click Get started. You will be redirected to the free trial setup wizard, which will guide you through the setup process.

8. On the first page of the setup wizard, click Set up a connector.

Connect your source

1. On the Connect Source page, select your source.

2. Click Continue Setup. You will be redirected to the connector setup form.

3. In the connector setup form, follow the instructions in the embedded setup guide on the right to finish setting up your source. This may require you to visit other apps and websites belonging to your source system, so we recommend keeping Fivetran open in a separate tab.

4. Fill in the required fields (the fields vary by source).

5. Click Save & Test to trigger the connection tests.

6. After your connection tests pass, click Continue.

   NOTE: If your connection tests fail, you will see a brief failure message. Correct the issues Fivetran identified, then rerun the connection tests.

Connect your destination

1. On the Connect Destination page, select your destination. You will be redirected to the destination setup form.

2. In the destination setup form, follow the instructions in the embedded setup guide on the right to finish setting up your destination.

3. Fill in the required fields (the fields vary by destination).

4. Click Save & Test to trigger the connection tests.

5. After your connection tests pass, click Continue.

   NOTE: If your connection tests fail, you will see a brief failure message. Correct the issues Fivetran identified, rerun the connection tests.

Select source data

The following connectors require you to select the source data you'd like to sync:

If your source does not require source data selection, your free account trial setup is complete. Proceed to begin your initial sync.

1. Fivetran automatically fetches data from your source and creates initial schemas based on your data. To include a schema in your data syncs, set the toggle to Enabled.

2. To include a table in your data syncs, click the checkbox next to the table name.

3. Including a table in your syncs automatically includes all of its columns. To exclude a column, deselect the checkbox next to the column name.

4. If your connector supports , you can hash a column by clicking the Hash Column checkbox to the right of the column name.

5. When you are done, click Save & Continue. You will be automatically redirected to the Connector status page of your Fivetran dashboard.

Start initial sync

On the Connector status page, click Start initial sync to begin your initial sync. We will email you when your initial sync has finished. Your 14-day free account trial begins once a connector starts an .
